Groups

Groups are a powerful tool for connection, shared experience, and growth. Interacting with and relating to others in a purposeful way allows us to access parts of ourselves that are hidden when we feel alone. I facilitate and co-facilitate three types of groups: educational groups, support groups, and intervention groups. The goal of an educational group is to provide information to participants that will expand their knowledge and provide alternative considerations in a particular area such as body image or anxiety. The goal of a support group is to connect with other people with similar experience and ask for and provide support for one another. The goal of an intervention group is to provide specific tools and skills, practice those tools and skills, and work on incorporating those tools and skills into life in a way that is helpful for progression and growth. Often times a group will incorporate more than one of the elements discussed above.
